That's why the SDH management decided to take our girls and boys on a proper day trip. We chose the location Beskydy with a trip to the clouds.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, we met at the fire station, boarded the bus and headed towards Beskydy. And as it usually happens, the weather was a bit bad. Because firefighters are not afraid of water, on the contrary, water is our friend, so we did not let the morning be spoiled. On the way in the bus there was a cheerful mood and we were all looking forward to what awaited us.

After two hours we arrived at our destination - Pustevny. What the meteorologists had predicted had been confirmed. Fog, drizzle and a bit cold, but that didn't bother any of the tour participants. They put on their raincoats and headed up the hill. The first hike was to the statue of Radegast - the lord of the Beskydy Mountains. There we hoped a bit that the fog would lift and we would see some panoramas. Unfortunately, this time Radegast was probably deeply asleep and did not hear what we asked him to do.

Our second hike was ahead of us, the Valaska trail - among the treetops. A really great experience for all, the children took advantage of all the attractions on the trail and the more thoughtful ones read an interesting story about the flora and fauna of the place.

Then we reached the top and behind the "fog that could be cut" was not the Brčálník pond, as some claimed, but the Giant Mountains on the right, the Himalayas on the left, the Alps in front of us and Lysá hora behind us... -Who can say that this was not seen that day?

After this amazing experience, we ran (some literally) downstairs, as we were all very hungry, so quickly to the bus for a late lunch.

No sooner had our bus descended into the valley than the sun started peeking out of the clouds, we were a bit hesitant to do it again.

However, we were hungrier, so we promised ourselves that we would go there again, maybe with our parents or grandma and grandpa.

In the late afternoon we all happily returned back to Luhačovice.

And now we are looking forward to more events together.

Luhačovice wants to protect its historical centre

The town of Luhačovice is planning a building closure in the area of the historic core. The measure is intended to temporarily protect architecturally valuable sites from unregulated construction until the new zoning plan comes into force. The building closure is to apply to the spa colonnade or Jurkovič Avenue towards the Luhačovice dam. In other locations, on the other hand, the city is ready to support new construction.
