The first cyclists should ride on the new cycle path connecting the local part of Polichno with Újezdec u Luhačovic at the beginning of November at the latest. Construction work on the long-awaited one-kilometre route began in April and will cost approximately CZK 23.5 million.

The construction of the new cycle path is associated with necessary traffic restrictions that affect the adjacent road II/490.
"The town of Luhačovice sincerely thanks all drivers for respecting the traffic restrictions and asks for increased caution in the vicinity of the construction. The patience and consideration of everyone helps to ensure the smooth progress of construction work and the safety of all road users," Luhačovice Town Hall informed on its website.
The planned completion of the construction of the one-kilometre-long cycle path is set for the end of October, at the latest the beginning of November.
"I am glad that the long-planned cycle path is finally being built. It will be especially welcomed by the residents of Polichno and the surrounding area, and by tourists. The extended cycle path means greater safety for both cyclists and pedestrians," said the mayor of Luhačovice, Marian Ležák.
Once operational, the cycle path should become an important part of the regional infrastructure.
