Thousands of visitors will descend on the spa town this weekend. Traffic will be controlled by shuttle

This Friday and on the weekend of 13th and 14th May, the popular Opening of the Springs will take place in Luhačovice again, symbolically opening this year's spa season. Like every year, this three-day festival will be a big event, so the organizers have decided to solve the influx of tourists with a shuttle service.

"Parking is one of the priorities of a satisfied visitor, so the town has reserved space for a parking lot on the approach from Uherský Brod behind Mat. From there, shuttle buses will be provided to take visitors to the city centre. Everything will be provided by volunteer firefighters from Luhačovice, Kladná Žilín, Řetechov and Polichno," said Luhačovice spokeswoman Hana Srncová.

The shuttle service will be provided on Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm. The minibuses will rotate every half hour.

Local street transportation with a CSAD schedule will then be the second option to get downtown.

"Unfortunately, this year it is necessary to count on the complete closure of part of the road II/490 in the village of Biskupice, from Fri 12. 5. from 20:00 until Saturdayy 13.5. until 23:59," continued Srncová, adding that the traffic situation and order in the city will be supervised by municipal police officers together with a reinforced patrol of the Police of the Czech Republic.

The program of the Opening of the Springs will take place in all weather conditions. In case of persistent rain, the program will be moved to the Rondo Grand Hall of KKC Elektra. In case of rain, Sunday's dedication of the springs will take place in Hala Vincentka and the cultural program in the Rondo KKC Elektra hall," added a city spokeswoman.
