The tradition of building the maypole has returned to "Dědina"

The so-called "Dědina", as the housing estate on Družstevní Street and its surroundings is called, has its May again after decades. On Thursday, 30 April 2020, it was erected in the garden of the local Home for the Elderly by the Luhačovice Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Construction works in Luhačovice Primary School

"The town of Luhačovice, despite the difficult current situation, is preparing and will soon start an investment project aimed at static securing of the foundation structure and floors of the western wing of the main building of the Luhačovice Primary School on Školní Street. The work is related to the planned transfer of children from the former nursery building to the primary school premises and the subsequent move of the headquarters of the House of Children and Youth from the castle to the former nursery building (811 Školní St.). The timing of these demanding moves requires that the main building of the primary school be ready for the increase in pupils during this construction season," said Deputy Mayor Jiří Šůstek.

On Saturday, 2nd May, Luhačovice commemorated the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the town. Mayor Marian Ležák and Deputy Mayor Jiří Šůstek paid tribute to the fallen by laying a memorial wreath at the monument in front of the town hall.

Reconstruction of the bus station will start in May

In the first week of May, the long-awaited construction works related to the complete reconstruction of the bus station in Luhačovice will start. The "Luhačovice Terminal" project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Integrated Regional Operational Programme.
